Working on a restoration of the boat my father in law gave me. Working on the floor today, and have it halfway cleaned up. Still need to find a windshield and frame, seats, and some corner from pieces

Picture of boat with seats out

This is what it looked like the first day it came home. What looks like a casement window between the homemade seats is actually the windshield they were using

This is what it looked like once I pulled off the vinyl. Found there is a 1 inch hole in the rear floor and it is full of water. Need to figure out a way to dry it out before sealing it up.

Vinyl out - Bow

Seat Area

Stern

Half done - bow

Half done - stern

I'm not positive but there is very likely flotation foam under that floor, and it will NEVER dry out on it's own. The floor will have to be taken up, the foam removed (and replaced).

You can probably get away with running it for a year or two, but it will eventually rot out the floor, stringers, and transom if not addressed at this point IMHO.

Just my two cents, others more familiar with you boat may be able to advise further.....

Edit: Just now saw the thread "Re:'64 Lone Star Mystic" where the wet foam conversation is going on. IMHO the floor does need to be cut out and the foam replaced, if the deck is 'glass you can always fiberglass it back in.

Looks like I found a windshield from Paul (boatman)that will fit my project. Just asking him to see if he has any of the trim pieces and the original seats.

Making progress, but most likely I will need to give the project a break for a while as I have other irons in the fire.

Got the windshield a few weeks ago and installed it for fit. Still need to complete the final install, but I need to get some rubber trim for the base of the windshield first. Here are some pictures of the new windshield and you can see some of the repairs on the seats.

Good view of the "new" windshield

Side view

Rear view and you can see some of the repairs that we made to the seats which were falling apart. You can also see the finished product of my 1948 Mercury KE-7 project. Probably not going to use it as a kicker, but it is a handy spot to hold it for now.
