Hey Dave! Wish I could get up there this year! The Buffalo show last year was my first show ever...even Though it rained all day, it was still worth it! Hope you have way better weather this year. I'll try to work it in next year with my Hydrodyne...by the way...if anyone is going, I suggest you show your boat on land because tons of people will come and talk with you!

Hello Dave,

Looks like a great event you guys are planning. Take lots of pictures.

Shannon’s Evinrude Lark is a real treat to see close up.

Gary MacNorius built the Lark

Bill says ‘Blu-By-U’ will be in the water so try to catch a ride with him.

The sound of the twin Merc 100’s in unison is amazing and makes some sweet music.
Steve H,

Your new Custom Craft looks excellent. What year is the boat and motor?

Thanks,
Terry

We are now home after a 675 miles each way trip,we ran the samoan Friday up towards the dam then down to the canal til a hxxx of a storm came in, then we pulled out and stayed on the trailer, we had a good show and was welcomed well, met some nice glass people as wood folks, the area was worth the trip 5 miles from niagra falls,,There was a good supply of glass, 6-7? custom craft.Dave did a nice job of organizing the glass area,We had Shannon on one side with the Lark and my samoan on the other side,Steve G,s cc has a good look that pic don't show the nice detail..Of course my camera quit but I bought another to find out it was bad,,so I am sure Dave will have pics, and a video,,over all good trip,,Bill

Great show and great people. Thanks Bill, Shannon, Steve, Ed, Don, Norm and Sharon, and too many others to mention.

Shannon and Bill's Boats were the talk of the show, at least on land where we displayed the Fiberglass Classics. We had a dozen or so Classic Fiberglass Boats lined up on the perimeter of the infield. It was a good spot, just across from the registration booth.

Credit for these two photos goes to Don Saulsbury from the Finger Lakes Chapter of the AOMCI. If you want to see more of Don's photos from the show, click the link here: plus.google.com/photos/110348668959037054605/albums/6057085977075127057

The weather started out pretty gloomy, but improved as the day went on. The crowds were good, especially considering the weather.

Shannon's boat is really something that you have to see in person, pictures just don't do it justice. Gary's work on the boat is top notch!

Credit for these two photos goes to professional photographer Micheal Kaz, who shot over 2000 photos at the show. Some of his photos are here on Flicker: www.flickr.com/photos/m-kaz/sets/72157646918188257/

Those Fins!

Bill's Samoan was a big hit too. Big Fins, they stick out so far that he had to fabricate special "wing tip protectors"!

Oh yeah, there were a few other boats at the show. At last count we had 144 registered for the show, but I'm sure there were some late arrivals.

The race boats were tearing up the course on the Niagara River, a sound you just can't resist!

Off Shore Poker Run boats were a special feature of the show this year:

Best show I've been to in a while!

Thanks for sharing Dave,

The Lark looks cool in B&W. It is reminiscent of the archival photos of the Lark as it was being hand crafted.
The on-water action shots by Michael Kaz are very good too.

Where would one find those pictures Terry?

We're doing a short video on the Lark, and it would be nice to have access to some of those photos.

Dave,
They came from the Milwaukee Art Museum collection. There is a ton of stuff to see on Brooks Stevens.

archive.mam.org/brooks-stevens/search.php?s=7070&type=search&search=

This is some of what I downloaded when I did the story on KevFin’s Cadillac Sea Lark recreations.

The photo above is one of the two original Larks built by Carlson-Fedder for Evinrude. They were shown at the Chicago and New York National Motor Boat Shows in 1956. Supposedly this picture was taken in 1972 and where the boat is at now is a mystery.

Here is a video that my friend Charles from Promoting Buffalo put together for the Boat Club. He is working on something for our Classic Fiberglass Boat Group as well featuring Shannon's Creation.
