Personally I get more power and better mileage from the non-ethanol fuel Tomahawk, I think something else must be causing your issue?

Some gas stations that either just started handling it or don't sell much of it have water or trash in the tanks at the station. First thing I would check is the fuel filter and/or float bowl in the carb to see if everything is in order there.

I have a '63 850 and a '77 1150 and only run the alcohol free premium and have had no problems. I don't use any Sta-bil or any other additives and they both run great. I think you have other problems. I agree with Mark and think you need to check filters, gas quality, and possibly fuel pump.
