Just finished the resto-mod of a 1986 Ski Nautique. A little mahogany never hurt a fiberglass boat. Restoration photo log at: www.nautilusrestorations.com/main/1986-ski-nautique/

Greg...The Trans Am boat was put on hold by the owner several months ago. We are in the process of building him a tricked-out 350 Chevy for it but if we aren't given a go-ahead after that, we'll store it away. Our next big project is the 1929 Dee Wite, which we'll get back to work on on Tuesday...bottoms-up.

Someday I’d like to meet you…. Buy you a beer… or ten and shake your hand !
You always take a nice looking boat, and turn it into an amazing boat.
Your customizing vision while retaining the overall look of a boat is mind boggling.
I can’t wait to see what you do with that Shepherd ? The freeboard on those are so high, and the cockpit is so deep.
That thing is going to look fast just sitting on the trailer !!!!

Keep up the great work. I really enjoy seeing your creations. And thanks for all repair and restore tips. I/we really appreciate it.

Geez...I'm just another carpenter/cabinetmaker who ran out of work and likes old boats. I "jazzed-up" my old 1980 Chris Craft Scorpion about 15 years ago and people started asking, "Can you do that to mine?" Well, without actually trying, a business was born. We work in my 2000' basement and do two boats at a time. I'm never late for work, have no dress code, make all the decisions and can't be fired. All in all, it doesn't suck. Thanks for the compliments. You fiberglassic guys are the greatest! You're all invited to come visit any time...lots of crazy stuff going on and free overnight accomodations. My wife's a great cook and the Dos Equis Amber is on me!

Here's the 351/350 HP engine I built for the Ski Nautique:

Those are some incredible carpentry skills to get an engine looking like that! :)
Artist is more like it.

I do enjoy your work. Keep posting it please.

Don't know if you guys ever saw postings of this 1963 Correct Craft Debonnaire. I've restored several fiberglass boats but this one is my pride and joy. The owner gave me free reign to design everything. It may actually set a record for the most mahogany on a fiberglass boat. Maybe I should contact Guinness. Did the drive line need to be re-aligned?

Not sure what you mean about the drive line being realigned. In the case of both boats, the engines were replaced in the same location/position as before and the transmission/propeller flanges were mated perfectly.

This thread has motivated me to get back to the refinishing work on my Glasspar interior. Two coats of varnish on the cabin door gave me even more inspiration. Starting to plan my strategy for stripping, prepping and staining the non-removable interior and cockpit wood.

Nautilus, your woodworking skills are amazing!
