TOPIC: pics of dented prop

pics of dented prop 10 years 2 months ago #97854

So I go to put on the brass prop with the new hub and see that the shop dented the outer edge of one of the blades...should I worry much about this?

In light of your recent troubles with the prop shop(s), I'd be tempted to hammer out that dent myself. (Take the prop back off and use a block of wood behind the blade, try to match the other two blades.) Just my two cents....... ;)

I flatten-out dings in props with two hammers...16 and 20 oz. Hold the heavier one in back of the dent and tap it from the front with the lighter one. This can easily be done with the prop mounted on the engine since there is no lateral force generated.
