My '62 Dorsett Catalina is decked out with 6 top deck mounted, probably dealer installed boat bumper attachments. I only have one male half that inserts into the female parts and would like to have more. Any body have a name for these parts that would help the search? Thanks

It looks to me that it would not be too difficult to reproduce - if you can't find any.
Look for a stainless steel long neck shackle, probably available from a shipchandlery that sells sailing gear.
Try here, there are a few sizes listed:

The brass pin should not be difficult to duplicate.
Good luck Straycat.

Like Downunder said, this could be difficult to reproduce. Check out the various Fastpins. There could be something close or useable.

Thanks for the link, it's a big help! Will look for a short time for originals but if all else fails I have a Lathe & Milling Mach. so could make the Brass part & buy the rings. Knurling the top of the Brass pin would be the hardest part....................Thanks again!

Those were made by Attwood. I have them on my SeaRay. I have only ever seen them with white nylon pins. Either yours are older or someone made the pins after the fact.

Well it could be "cheaper by the dozen" if you would like some Brass pins made up!

The knurling shouldn't be that hard if you have the knurling attachment for you lathe. Just knurl the end then mill the flat sides for the rings.

I get the process but my knurler, if that's a word, has way to big of a pattern, would have to look for a more jewelry like pattern like an old wind up watch stem would have.

Ah, not sure mine would be small enough either then. You could always make them without the knurl. Don't see a real reason they should be there anyway actually. The ring is the pull point, don't see a need to get a grip on it unless the ring falls off but shouldn't need the knurl to help pull it out. I'm wondering if someone made it out of an old pin of some type since that's all they could find at the time. Just a thought.

Here's a close up of the pin, I know it's anal but I like detail stuff like this.

Oh don't get me wrong, i'm pretty anal myself! ;) I'm just thinking if you can't find a knurler small enough, just make it without for all of them. You can change out the single one you have, they'll all match and no one will know the difference, except us of course and we won't tell. ;)
