TOPIC: ACBS Michigan Chapter 2014 Boat Show winners

The featured boats in Saint Clair Harbor this year was ‘Classic Glass’.

Bill Anderson’s 1959 South Seas Samoan ‘Blu By U’ took the trophy for Best Classic Glass Outboard.
The outrageous design of this swept fin beauty with twin Mercury 1000’s was a true show stopper.



Friday morning Bill and his boat were the prime subject of a crew Haggerty photographers, videographers and producers. I can’t help but wonder where we will next see images of this great classic boat.

I swear I clearly heard this guy say “Martha look at them big ole fins on that there boat”

Thanks for the kind words and good pics,, that is probable the best pics I have of this boat,,the show was great and I don't think people realize how rare the boats were that were there in fiberglass,,glass slipper,car aqua, Herters rocket,and your original glasspar sedan and kevfins retro lark,, and the samoan,and all were good high quality restorations,, But I was very happy that we all were so well treated and appreciated, this was a very good bunch of people and it was very well organized,I think every member came up and thanked each one of us for coming several time over,I am not a fan for in water showing because I always have large fins that I worry about but this was calm water and great docks,and a good mate to tie it up,,[Terry,DEl]it needs to go on your list for next year,, thanks again Terry , Bill

Your welcome and its my pleasure to share these pictures. I took near 400 but should have got more. For instance I could have better shots of the Fino.
And yeah I'm hoping to be able to go again next year too.

Another beautiful Classic Glass winner was this 1970 Fino 30 “Blue Chip”

Bill Stephenson went home with the trophy for ‘Best of Show' . Yes, you read that correctly, a fiberglass boat was awarded "Best of Show" at an ACBS event.

Both of those boats are most deserving, that Samoan is georgous! The Fino looks like it could have been conceived in the 1930's too, what terrific lines.

Sorry I'm late to the posts here. Been at the farm the last month, where I don't have a computer. But my Buehler ended up winning also. A BIG thanks to my restorers Dave and Scott Wrzesinski for the fabulous restoration they did on her. I couldn't make the show myself, just too much work to do at the farm.
