TOPIC: Leavens (Toronto) Retreival

Leavens (Toronto) Retreival 10 years 3 months ago #95986

Today I picked up a boat that I was given last Fall. My original intensions were to salvage the engine and steering controls, but after a little clean-up,........ maybe another project????

That's a really neat looking hull. The sides and fins are shaped nice.

If I do decide to pass it along, at least now its a little more "adoptable".It was heading to be crushed and buried.

It does seem to be in pretty good shape considering its history, even the floor feels solid to walk on.The fiberglass skin over the plywood has separated in a few spots though.
I will be opening it up for a look.

Very "period appropriate" hardware too.

I will try again to post multiple pics, after MarkS gave me some tips.
.......Sorry MarkS, but don't see the "EDIT" button to add another pic?

Capt'n BB,
I too noticed your bowlight on your rechroming post.
Haven't taken mine from the boat yet, so don't know manufacturer?
Thought that it might be pot-metal or white metal(?) so re-chroming might be difficult (i.e. expensive) ? Did your plater give you a piece by piece estimate?

I really like the styling of the light and boddard/cleat thingy, so will be investigating costs of getting those two pieces redone.

Great find Bill, way to save her. She does have some cool lines to her.

Mine came with a motor too, a 40HP Gale Soverighn, which looks to be in amazing shape considering that the whole outfit had sat outdoors for 20 yrs.

I have a 60HP V-4 Evinrude that was given to me a couple of years ago, which might do a nice job on the boat though. The motor is to big for any of my cedarstrip boats, so this might work out nicely?
