Mark,

If you had an old shear pin style OMC motor like my stringer I/Os, then prop testing is boring. You have no choices as to designs. Just pick a pitch & go.

I love the old OMC motors too. Especially the electric shift I/Os.

Hey Mike, yeah I think she's scootin' pretty well (39 1/2 MPH by the Airguide) considering it's a four blade prop on there right now. I'm planning on changing to a three blade soon and keeping this one for a spare.

Lookin good Mark. I may play with some props today too. On our way to the Great Sacandaga up in the southern Adirondacks this a.m. It's a hike, but I'm tired (already) of the Hudson, want a mountain lake to boat in, and she's a BIG one!

Had a screwy day yesterday. Drove 150 miles round trip with the boat on the back of my pickup to go to what I thought would be a great little lake, only to find it wasn't great. Never even launched the boat. NYPA's Blenhiem-Gilboa pumped storage facility lower reservoir. Concrete docks, forget it!

Thanks Frank. I hear ya about searching for new water, I'm going to try a few of the other options around here too. Lake Jackson looked cleaner than normal yesterday, and I STILL hit debris with the prop and knocked a bunch of paint off! (No damage, just superficial, but it hacks me off.)
The public (GA Power) boat ramp at my lake is wood, but very rough and no bumpers. I refuse to use it, (first and last time I put a "scarf" on the side of the Starflite) too much congestion anyway. It's $5 where I launch, and only $3 at the public ramp, but the facilities are much better.
Happy Fathers Day buddy, and to all the Dads out there. Enjoy your day!
