TOPIC: Lund trihull any good?

Lund trihull any good? 14 years 3 months ago #9455

Going to look at a 16 ft Lund trihull with the 90 hp (Renault) Mercruiser I/O.

Owner doesn't know a lot about it.

A pic is here:

Any thoughts or experiences on these as boats, pro or con?

Thanks....

The boat is from 1970 to 1972 (maybe a 1973 with a left over MCM 90).

It was built in Shell Lake, WI by what was originally the Shell Lake Boat Company. It is a balsa cored hull, so I would expect some core rot/delamination issues.

1972 was the last year for the MerCruiser 90 and any further Renault based powerplants. Parts are extremely rare.

ALL BOATS ARE GOOD!

I agree with Jim that parts are getting tough to find for the renault mercruiser engines. If you like adventurous hunting for parts (especially manifolds), then go for it. Most of these were outboards.
