TOPIC: 1969 Cosby G3?

You guys seem to like mystery boats so here is one for you.

This boat was registered as 69 Cosby and appears to be a G3 above the sponsons. Its hull is different than a Glasspar with a flat keel and strakes along each side between the keel and chine.

Owner says registration states it to be 1969 Cosby #flzj4566a869 which could indicate a 1969 date code.





First thought was a typo dropping the ’r’ in Crosby. But they were gone by the mid-sixties.

Anyone know of any other existing boats or have heard of a Cosby?

When I saw the first pic, my first thought (Dangerous, I know) was a Switzer.

I would have guessed it's a modified G-3, but who knows. I do know it needs a big motor and a stainless prop.

TERRY, Seems like the prior artist combined some paperwork to get a registration from the state... H.I.N. # came out in late 71.. So they could call it a replica of a 69 something, or family member.. The " Z " in the code is universal for HOME-MADE . So I would advise others it is just a modified G-3 .. $ Price is per condition... Unless owned by a celebrity & documented.... Conn TV car guy was able to prove Paul Newman owned the Volvo station wagon he bought, ??
There was a V-8 engine installed.. On the outside it is still a Volvo.
