I'm looking at various types of sheet plastics that would be suitable for making a flat 1/4 inch thick faceplate for my gauges. It needs to be rigid and strong because the guage holes will compromise. It will have to be 6 x 14 inches. I'll settle for white, but red would awesome. I plan to machine a bevel around it too.

It is far stronger, easy to work with, can be polisher, painted, or machine turned for a real fancy look.. The best plastic would be polycarbonate because it is crack resistant.
