Just got a letter from fish and game, they won't register my boat without the previous title (never had one) or previous owners registration (previous owner never registered it)

I'll call them tomorrow, they closed at 4.

My notary said to send them a letter stating it was never titled, and it has not been registered since the 70's. Doubt they'd take that.

Well, we'll see what they say tomorrow.

Anybody happen to have a registration card for a powercat from the 70's???

Contacted PA Fish and Game and told them the story of the boat. They told me to contact NY DMV to get information on the ownership of the boat.

So i called the NY DMV after looking at their web site. I need to submit a form MV-15 to have them do a title and registration search. Along with a check for $20 and a copy of my license, a credit card statement, copy of SSN card, a utility bill, and a dna and stool sample.

I've had the form notarized as well. The NYDMV web site says to have it notarized, but the person on the phone didn't mention that, and the form doesnt either. But it can't hurt.

Now i wait 2 weeks and see what happens. then wait 2 more weeks for PA Fish and Game to tell me it's not enough and i need some other beaurocratic form!

So got a letter from NY DMV. No registration or title ever on record in NY for this boat. Forwarded the letter to PA Fish and Game. Should find out in a week.

Find a junker with a title buy it and trash the junker. Do you know a water cop who knows what a 1960 Powercat looks like?

Anybody know how to avoid a double post when trying to edit from a (dumb) smartphone?
