TOPIC: Lake Dora Show 3.31.2014

Not much to say as I am tired.

The Glaspar display was fantastic. 25-30 boats. Lots of interest by the crowd. Lots of Glaspar owners.

In seabuddy's opinon, the presentation was "over-the-top"

This effort over the three show days, but showed all the signs of maybe a years worth of planning, will really help the hobby and Glaspar boats!

The boats, signs, and t-shirts made Glaspar a and maybe the feature of the ACBS event.

seabuddy will make sure that this momentum will be carried forward at the St. Michaels ACBS boat show, June 13-15, 2014. There will be TWO Awards. Both Best G-3 and a Best Glaspar.

WOW!! LOL!

I must say about the shirts... Black or not, they stood out. Show goers knew that Glasspar boats were at the show.

Also, maybe I can not count. By far and away, that was the most FiberClassics I have ever seen.

Chris, the G3 gang has always been notorious for "poking fun" at each other, even though it has calmed down a great deal in recent times! When the G3 forum was merged into the main FG site (back in '08 ?), I couldn't believe the good natured fun this gang has goading each other. Terms of Endearment, if you will.

Thank you for your reports back from what is believed to be the largest classic boat show in the world, definitely in the top three on my "bucket list"!

Yes, I was told before and after I got to the show and after it ended. You guys are my buddies, and I choose to declare that in person.

That said, I want to stay neutral and befriend all... as I want the hobby to grow.

BTW, there will be two awards this year at the St. Michaels Classic Boat Show this June. One for Best Glasspar and one for Best G-3.These will be judged only by the Glasspar Boat Owners at the show, not the ACBS judges. Skip's restomod G-3 won last year, so he can not win the G-3 Award again this year.He is fine with that. He will still bring that boat from Florida to the show and display it for all to see.

This show also has an Award for Fiberglass Classic judged by the ACBS Judges.

And then there other catagories like Best Outboard, etc.

The list goes on... the show gives away 41 Awards each year.
