My 1959 Dorsett Catalina arrived today at 3 pm cst,I found her here in the Glassifieds,and with much thanks to Lee and Laura form Utah she now has a new home. she is in great shape, but will undergo a redo .Going to try an have her on the water after a little TLC. it also comes with alot of original paper work and manuals, has a Mark 55AE with it, a very nice trailer that tilts . it was bought brand new by the preivious owners uncle in 1959, been in there family ever since.

Thanks for the heads up, but I really like an outboard and the style of yours so I'll keep looking for a catalina. This one would fix up real nice,but too far away.

nice, I spend a lot of time In eastern Iowa. Also nice to see you have the exact year of your boat, Mine has all the trim and lighting in the exact same places as yours, so that, IMO, confirms that mine also is a 59. been waiting four months on the paperwork from the state of california... going to have to light the fire under their arses in the days to come to speed things up so I can start sinking money into her.. in the meantime, I may level up the rub rail and run a couple benchmarks one on the bottom and one to the right of the boat and measure up and log a table of offsets of the boat to possibly make a plug for making a set of molds for laying up a scale model/s of this boat. Keep us up to date on your boat goes, who knows, if my paperwork shows up in time, I may be doing the same with mine at the same time.

what a great day in nebraska 65 and the sun shining, very little wind. so it was time to give my new baby a little loven. soap and water ,degreaser, and alot of rubbing. we definitely did a alot of bonding. i was able to go over her really good as it was the warmest day this week.she is really in good shape. i'm very excited ,mite have to start the redo before fall.

Looks like she cleaned up pretty nice, Madbohunk. I know it's sometimes hard to tell in the pics, but it looks like a little buffing might bring the shine right back? I'll bet your little helper there is making some memories he'll never forget.

What have you got sitting in the driveway behind the Dorsett? (Sorry for being nosey, we just love anything boat related around here. LOL )

thats a 1960 dorsett belmont, that i picked up about 6 weeks ago sitting in a farmers feild , i have it forsale on glassifieds, but mite keep her now, as i just got rid of a 1961 dorsett lexington fixer upper, someone fell in love her,and i needed make room in the driveway . yes ,buffing will help, but shes ready for a make over,so will enjoy her this summer then start a redo. will post pictures as i go thanks

You should keep both! Your Belmont has the Flying Scott 60. Your boat(s) were styled for Dorsett by Raymond Lowey and in 58 McCulloch commissioned Lowey to redesign the cowls on the Scott outboards. It's a sweet setup.

I've been trying come up with a good reason to add a Catalina to my "collection".
