TOPIC: Best time of the year down here in Florida

Besides perfect weather, cool old boats start showing up. Covers are coming off and boaters are getting ready for the big show. I am thinking with the continuing bad weather up North that this maybe the year for many to come down and play. Later Gator Wave

Love the pics. The Hydro is fantastic. I used to live in Lauderdale and the one thing I miss most is all the access to water. I had a 12 footer for Gulf/inland, and a 23 footer for the Atlantic. Sure caught a lot of fish. Enjoy the good weather. About now I'd be headed for Chokoloskee.

It is great here in TX also....It will be even better in about 4 to 6 weeks when all of the snow birds pack up and go home!

Ft Lauderdale...upper 70's...partly cloudy...cool breeze of the ocean. The big nautical flea market is going this weekend here. 100's of venders, collectors, private sellers, artists, local/ global shops/dealers selling off stuff cheap.

Is Fl one market? Or is Miami different from Lake Dora?

Ft Laud and Miami are way southeast in the state on the Atlantic coast, and Mt Dora is about 250 miles NNW, in fresh water country.

Cat*fin*k, I sure wish I was there for that nautical flea market. Understandably, we don't get those out here.

I am flying down this year so that might limit my buying this year,,but regardless what I buy it always gets home,Bill

I gather that those would be the same snowbirds who contribute millions to the economy of Texas each and every winter???

NOPE the ones that till a few years ago freeloaded off the state.

Over 65 did not need a fishing license, got to stay in the state parks cheap

New laws went into effect.

Cannot stay more then 2 weeks in a state park at one time and Must be a TX resident for a min of 90 days before they get their discount. ....and if been in a state park cannot hold a reversion over a TX resident.....meaning if they were at a state park for 2 weeks and made reversions to another park (because they had to move) and if the park they are going to fills up and they are not in spot yet then a TX resident will get their spot....nothing like going to the lake and not being able to get in because of all of the snowbirds.

Unless a TX resident for the past 90 days must have a fishing for out of state residents
