Okay this addiction thing is taking over. I just bought a GlassCraft and haven't even seen it in person yet. I've now been offered a pretty decent 59 Redfish with merc and trailer for $500 maybe less. Is the Redfish a sought after boat? It looks pretty cool, but I just got the GlassCraft and I'm still considering a Delbilt. Help LOL!!!

you can never have too many, buy them all and save them. even if you resale at a later date. then they will go to some one who will enjoy them and they will not be scraped out. just my 2 cents. and welcome aboard. frog

My Admiral does not subscribe to this theory, although I do...

Good luck.

Are Redfish sought after? Depends, if you want to profit from the repair/resto of the boat, motor & trailer, no probably not if you expect to be rewarded (paid) for the labor you put into it.

Finding an interested buyer, BEFORE the resto, to FUND the resto, and pay you for your time, then maybe. But it might take a good deal of time to find that special buyer.

You might find someone that had one in their family, or grew up using their grandfathers Redfish, and would WANT it as is, but again it might take some time to find that buyer.

Guys are willing to buy boats on the other side of the country & pay to have it transported back to Calif or NY. So yeah, you might find someone that would gladly pay what you ask for it restored. Pretty big MIGHT.

Vintage Merc collectors are also known for going to great links to find & buy good motors..... Vintage trailers too..

I like vintage, finned boats, but could never afford an already restored one.

Look thru the FG projects, I think there's more then 1 Redfish around here somewhere.....

Redfish boats are desirable by many collectors. Me particularly :). The Capri model (3 scoops on bow)is very rare and should be grabbed up quickly.

Cheers,
Andrew

Needs a new tire on the trailer and a little buffing and she's good for the summer :)
Does the Merc run?

No idea I'm going to pass on it if anyone else wants it. I'm in Vegas and my summer place is in Spokane. Just a bit out of the way for another project. If it was in my backyard I'd probably go for it.
