Need some ideas on how to get rid of a boat 10 years 10 months ago #86568

I found an old MFG w/ a Lark 40 I want for 100 bucks. Only problem is it will strain my marriage if I bring the boat home. Any ideas how to dispose of it? Or anyone want it for free? All I want is the 40 and controls/wiring. I'm in the Fingerlakes area in NY.

Fwiw, I've disposed of over a DOZEN old/junky boats by running a FOR FREE ad on craigslist. The two that I couldn't get anyone to take for free (after stripping everything reusable), I paid a "small cash gift" to the bulldozer operator at a city dump to BURY. yours, satx |

I take the free on Craigslist method... If no go I cut them up with the saws all and take it to the local dump, no issues. Most landfills will weigh it for you and charge by the pound. Better than burying them or burning them...

I got one I need to strip. Then I'll take my 941 cat track loader and have some fun.when I get done you can put it in a wheel barrow lol

I've used the "Hide it at the friends house" method before ?
A case of beer can buy you a few weeks of storage. Strip the boat clean of what you need. Then with a sawzall and a sledge. I bet you can fit the thing in a few garbage cans ? And the show up early for work... parked next to the dumpster ? If all else fails ? Donate it to Good Will or other charity ? They may be able to scavenge a few bucks for it ? |

Donate it to a charity! Ive gotten rid of several boats that way. Even if you dont have a trailer they will come pick it up at your house. They take any condition boat and its also a tax write-off!

not sure where you're from but here in ontario there is a company called kawartha boat wreckers, they will come pick up any fiberglass boat in southern ontario and recycle it at thier facility
