Hey, that's pretty cool - I never thought of a pocket door on a cabin boat before. Will there be a way of locking it open and closed?

locking it, i have a receiver on the inside to catch the door on the driver side. i will pin it from the inside.. and i will buy a showcase lock for the outside that will pin it with a key. i hope to have a few better pictures soon. i didnt like the idea of a swinging door in the way of my passengers and being closed all the time. i will give an update to this this weekend. thanks for the
approval

Nice, the club mariners had that...save a TON of room. Mine had a simple sliding latch with a hole in door (with metal recptacle in it) to keep it closed, and when want to keep it open - it went flush - you closed latch in front of slider...lol...simpler times.

Really interested in what type of lock you are going to use. Really don't want to use a hasp style as looks like crap.

Beautiful job you are doing btw!

Well with all those slides it for sure oughta be sturdy enuf !!!!! Have you ever used Rare Earth Magnets? They can be purchased in varying weight categories and I'm pretty sure they would be more than capable of holding that door closed. You could countersink then in the wood and epoxy them in place so no one would know they were there. I've used them for pocket doors in homes and they work really well. Takes a pretty good tug to open the door.

i am a locksmith so i have access to electromagnetic locks for access control systems. they make a little electric latch that runs off batteries . it only powers up when you unlock it. if i get fancy i could put a little secret button maybe on the console. to unlock it. and an exit button on the inside, i like the idea. ummm i'll have to study on that.

again two heads are better than one then 150 heads should be great.
