TOPIC: New Member Sound Off

My first ever boat. Picked up a 1964 (?) 22' Luger Caribbean from a guy in New York and towed back to NC - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The PO has done a great job on engine and mechanical, I'm refinishing the interior and exterior. Boat has Merc 165 motor and I/O. Fiber bottom and top / transom trimmed in mahogany. Trailer is a single axle 70's-era EZ Loader heavy duty (load range E). Boat and trailer are 3600 lbs (dry) - weighed on the way home - Cat scale truck stop.

Will be posting a few questions in the appropriate forums - sorry, but which one for glass? I saw aluminum, wood...

a 1964 vintage. ? The lines of your cruiser are very close to the mid 60's Glasspar 18 ft style.. Some interior wood. Try to add my pic

Wow - Yes, those are similar. No, the Merc 165 I/O was replaced by the PO. I don't believe he got the boat with an outdrive, but I saw a picture of the engine that was in it - don't know the make / model but it was much smaller than the Merc 165 and red in color. If I recall, I believe it would have underpowered the boat, hence replaced.
