I restore and build vintage motorcycles and new to the vintage boat arena. Just found a beautiful 1959 Glasspar Del Mar that had been in storage some 14 years, very good shape. 64 Mercury 65hp motor, which hasn't been started in 14 years also. I am starting with the motor, bought a manual which is really no good compared to the motorcycle manuals. It turns over but has no spark, so that is where I begin. The boat may not need anything except the moulding that goes where the upper and lower hull halves go together.

I saw where there were others have these boats, please get back with me and maybe we can find stuff we need together. My normal email is This email address is being protected from spambots. CONGRATS on a Sweet piece , & WELCOME TO THE FORUM .. CALIF is a big place to find these 50's glasspars. .Looks like quite good cond, & nice color.

. The Merc may just have rusty electrical over time.? , but those models have a weak area of the ignition wires going up into the Stator. Can break close to a point where unable to solder back to together.?

.. Keep us posted. Some of those Del Mars won some nice awards.

Yea, same boat. I am the third owner. The first parked it then sold it to a friend with bad arthritis who couldn't do much, so the first told the second about me and now I got it. Crazy world. I found a guy who has a windshield, which I find out is the back window of a Studebaker.

Let me know when you start working on your Del Mar.

Alan
