TOPIC: Sucajo Eldurado

Our neighbor has a '57 Sucajo Eldurado. The last time it was ridden was in '73 (an assumption because that was when it was last registered). My husband wants the boat but we have no idea what it is worth. Also we have no idea if it will ever run again. Does anyone know what it is worth? And is this a project he should take on or just not even bother with it?

Welcome aboard B, can you post some pics for the gang to check out. (They might assist in giving you a fair value.) There are several things to check out when evaluating a potential project, I'm sure the crew here would be glad to chime in with helpful hints. Where are you located, maybe you have a member here close enough to assist?

WELCOME ABOARD. (Fyi, I'm a "devotee of" boats by "small & independent boat-builders" but I've never even heard of that one.) Ma'am, there were several HUNDRED small boat-builders in the period 1940-70 (Including over 75 in Texas alone.) and Many of them built 10 or less boats. - SOME built exactly ONE. (I know of 4 companies that "closed their doors forever" without building ANY boats at all. - Not even a "prototype"!) PHOTOS would possibly help. yours, satx |

Pictures of the boat. I talked to the original owner and she told me that it was put in the barn around 79.

Thank you my husband is excited about this boat. He and the neighbor worked out a trade for labor and the boat. However, I can't find any information on the boat.

Still trying to find where the "Sucajo" brand comes in; United Engineering Co.'s owner was a partner in Lyjohn Manufacturing which made two models of "Lyjohn" fiberglass boats:
