Bob, it's just a harness, no flotation, but it's made of material that has some "give" so it fits well. Wal Mart pet section, about $10. When my dogs see these come out, they get all excited because they know it's camping/boating time. I do have some "Aqua Dog" life vests, they're sturdy but sort of bulky and the dogs would rather not wear them. I got those from Overton's or Cabela's.

Heartwarming thread Robert, great idea. There's a website called www.doggyloot.com that has the dog life jackets on sale occasionally, I'm keeping an eye out for some right now myself! I'll shoot you a message if/when I find some.

I fish mostly in shallow water and close to shore normally and my dog is young and is a great swimmer but I've been thinking seriously about one. Besides she is a very shorthaired dog and does get cold when the mercury goes down. She will be seven come New Years. She was born on last day of 2006. Here is a pic on Ford Island where I stop and leave her relieve herself and run a bit. Somebody camps here and actually mows it.
