That is the King of the Cowboys, Roy Rogers and his family....from an early fifties boating adv.

1957 Yellow Jacket custom paint with a Merc Mark 75 pushing it.

Did he ever race one with twin outboards?

He race a Glasspar in 1955 with twin Mercs off the CA coast and set a record. In 1956 he tried again in a Yellow Jacket but the race was call because of fog.

In 1957 he had three boats in the race however Macderby had twin Mark 75s (one with a counter rotating prop) and set a new record.

His race boat from 1956 till the plant closed was Yellow Jackets and they had twins on them.

After the plant closed Merc set him up with Power Cat. He did not race much any more however the Power Cars had twins

No one really know. There are Yellow Jackets being found all the time.

There are about 6 people on line that say that they have Roy's old boat, however the proving it for sure has not been done. Anything from the boat belonged to a friend of Roy that Roy sold it to (however he sold many boats to friends at a discount...part of being part owner of a CO) to a boat that has a RR scratched under the dash.
