TOPIC: throttle issues

throttle issues 11 years 2 months ago #80538

hey guys

So i have a 1958 Johnson 35hp seahorse on a what i believe to be between a 1957-59 white-house 14 foot fin boat. the issue i am having is it will run great throttle speed in neutral but as soon as i shift into gear it basically loses power and drives very slow. i tried adjusting throttles and it didn't seem to make much difference. any help would really be appreciated

thanks guys

Vinnie

Vinnie,
When you say loses power, by that do you mean the engine RPM's slow down or the whole boat goes slow but RPMs are the same? If it's, the RPM's stay the same and no real go, then I agree with Ron, spun prop hub. If it's the RPM's go down and no real speed then it's probably something else. Something in the lower drive section is not spinning freely so to speak.
