TOPIC: My first real boat is a mystery...

My first real boat is a mystery... 11 years 2 months ago #80323

Bought this little beauty a couple days ago, and can't find a single bit of information about it anywhere. It's a 1958 Performer Seven Seas, and is titled as a 15 ft. It measures out a bit short of 16 feet. Very solid, new floor, needs electrical work, but just want to find out more about the model. I've seen some history of Performer, but not a stitch of info about a 15 ft Seven Seas, or anything about this boat. Anybody seen/had one? Thanks.

yah, i saw that one. it's really all there is about these boats, but says nothing of a 15' seven seas. all the pics are of other boats, and even the brochure doesn't show it. the only seven seas is a 17' and looks nothing like mine. i've looked on every forum, sales list, and archival library i can find and still nothing.. thanks though.

The title may not have any relation to reality.
The 17 foot measurement might be taken along the rub rail,
as this was common with a lot of builders.
(My 17' Dorsett Catalina is 16'2" on a centerline measurement)

the 17 ft seven seas is actually closer to 18, just like my so-called 15 is closer to 16, yet there still was no seven seas 15 or 16 in any of the brochures i've seen, and the other performer boats from that era look nothing like this one. still a mystery..

warvette,

NICE. Never even SEEN one, so I can offer you nothing but: WELCOME ABOARD.
(Fwiw, a lot of builders made a few models that they didn't even put out brochures for.)
