Working on my '59 Dorsett, the original t-bolts holding the windshield down are steel and are mostly gone from rust. I'd like to replace them, but I'd like the replacement bolts to be stainless steel. I figured if anyone would know of a source it would be the folks on this forum!

Does anyone know where to get some stainless t-bolts?

You might try McMaster-Carr. Very good quality and selection. Love that Dorsett, always wanted one!

All the t-bolts I could find were regular steel, so I made my own. First I had to get the old steel t-bolts out. They were rusted in place in the aluminum track, so I cut the shaft off and then cut the heads in half:

Then I took some 1/4" stainless lag bolts, ground off the edges and flattened the head a bit:

And it fit! A little loose on the square section, but it should work:

Now then, where do I get a new gasket to put around the bottom of the windshield?
