I didn't even notice until you pointed that out Chris. I can see the Starboard motor has a swept skeg, which would be newer than the "Cloud White" era. Beautiful set-up though, bet those twin towers sing a sweet song!

I do not know styling verses models years, so I need the board's help with their best guess. These engines are on a totaly custom, made-from-scratch stylized outboard powered boat. I will post more photos of the boat, just to round out this thread.

ADI is Alternator Driven Ignition. Power is supplied to a switchbox, by the Stator. A trigger under the flywheel sends a signal to the Switchbox to dump a pulse of power to a coil, which fires the spark plug. Each spark plug has it's own coil.

CDM is Capaciter Discharge Module ignition. In this ign system the switchbox is combined with the coil, one for each cylinder. Other than that component difference, the system functions the same.

Looks like some serious props. I am with Robbie in wondering what power head is under those hoods.

The boat has been in the water for prop testing which is not finished.

That boat was hand built by Gary Mac Norius, an extremely talented boat restorer/builder out of Mirimar FL. He conceived it in his mind, laid it out on his garage floor, and built it from there. He called it "Ventuno," which is Italian for 21 (the length of the boat). The motors are later model (perhaps '73-76, I can't remember?) 115 HP Mercs, with power trim. Gary did some hand-crafting to the cowls and painted them to look like the '60 or '61 Cloud White Mercs, to stay with the period look. The bow light is a one-of-a-kind custom piece, the seats are electric, there is a GPS driven analog speedometer in the dash pod, and the fit and finish on the boat is beyond belief. It is truly a work of art. Gary has only had it in the water a time or two, but I recall him saying it ran about 60 MPH. The first year he showed it at Mt. Dora, he won two awards, which is amazing in itself because that show is more focused on woodies, and classic glass usually gets overlooked.

Just checked my notes. I think the engines are '81s, disguised to look like '61 800s.

OK, I knew that boat looked familiar. I think there was some pix/story on Scream and Fly. The build, etc. I'll see if I can dig it up.
