I used the Rustolium clear on Rustolium top side paint. Contacted the company and they said it would work before I did it - They were right. IMHO I would stay with the same manufacturer on the paint and clear - Tractor Supply paint - Tractor supply Clear - Rustolium paint - Rustolium clear - It not worth the risk after you get the paint on to mess it up - Word to the wise it's very thin so put on small coats -go on too thick at any one time . It dries fast so just take a break and get some fresh and come back and put on another thin coat .

2 Qts of clear 1 qt Metallic then 2 more Qts of clear to finish Seems like overkill but it sure came out nice

I'm curious as to why the need or perceived need for clear coat. I use Rustoleum or the Tractor paint on boats and trailers and I use the Acrylic Enamel Hardener as well. I find the end results to be very HIGH Gloss and no need for Clear Coat. Adding the Clear coat makes touch ups of the inevitable nicks and scratches problematic. I also have had several people tell me that the Tractor and Rustoleum "Clears" will yellow, Peel and Crack after time. I don't and won't use them. Just don't see the need or benefit.

Just my 2¢
