Good Evening,
It is now time to start paining the inside of my 14' 1959 Owens Speedship. I have a little bare fiberglass showing because of years of wear, so I am looking for a recommendation for both primer(if required) and interior paint, to paint the interior sides and flooring. Please post your recommendations considering I would like this to look very original.
Thanks,
StevieB

A pic or two might help the gang determine what recommendations to make Stevie, is it one of the speckled/fleck type finishes? There are a couple good threads here on how to accomplish that effect. Which paint to actually use runs from the economical implement enamel (with hardener) like I used, all the way up to $100 per quart specialty marine paints. I'm very satisfied with my results, plus it's covered with carpet so appearance wasn't the most important consideration. (I would recommend sticking with exterior grade paint though, better moisture protection.)

Stevie:

I agree with Mark, a picture would help us.

For what it is worth, I just spray painted the inside floor and cabin of our 1960 Glasspar Seafair Sedan with the original "Zolatone" MEDUSA GRAY color. Zolatone is a "speckled"
paint that Mark mentioned. It is very tough and wears real well.

Here are pictures of our Seafair BEFORE and AFTER:

Thanks John, I couldn't remember the name to save my soul! (I guess the memory thing is getting worse.) :)

Here's a fairly recent thread with discussions on interior paint you might find interesting StevieB;

Here is something I've been looking at. You can get it in textured or smooth or you can put a coat of smooth over textured (as recommended by mfr) which is what I might do. The military testimonials are impressive.
