Roy's racing years were mostly in the early 50's with about 1957 being the last time he raced. Now after that he was still an avid
pleasure boater and owned several Yellow Jackets, this Power Cat,
and other boats that he and his family used. When I met with
Roy's son and grandson at the auction of the Power Cat they told me
that this Power Cat was the boat that Roy and the family kept
and still used. They had it restored before the auction and they took it out to the lake with the most of the family, children grandkids, great grandkids, all for one last day of boating before
it went for sale. They had some great stories about the years the
family spent on the lake with this boat.
