Hey Dave,

Do you mind me asking what that costs? I have a flybridge boat that I would love to do that to during the wet, cold winter months... but I've always assumed it was very expensive and not worth doing.

Thanks,

Dean

The day I cover the boat for the season is always a sad day for me.

U-Line sells the shrink wrap Dean, although it may be available cheaper elsewhere?

I'm lucky (and very grateful!) that I have an understanding wife who lets me park the boat in the garage so I can keep "tinkering" over the winter, but yes - Come On Springtime!

Hi Dean,
My daughter works at a wholesale marine warehouse distributor.
That sells to marinas and boat retailers.
For our stuff we use is seconds shrink wrap. We have a shrink wrap tool that heats the material to tighten it up.
There should be a marina that can do this for you. They usually charge by the foot.
If you are lucky enough to get some shrink material yourself. and find a heat gun you could do it yourself.
I know I wouldn't want to do it for a living.
Basic stuff you need is a propane powered heat gun, shrink wrap material, and nylon strap binding.
You basically cover the boat with the shrink wrap secure it with the strapping and shrink it. There are sites on the internet that will show how to do it. Price wise I couldn't tell you what it cost us. PS Get some shrink wrap tape in case you burn a hole in it. Don't ask me how we know.
I hope I helped you Dean

dave, i'm going to get a pontoon one of these days. do you think a tritoon is worth the extra money or is it just overkill. i'm looking in the 16 to 18foot range. ron

Ron,
My pontoon is 20ft. with a 16ft deck.
If you were going to get a big one and put a huge motor on it I would say go tritoon. Tritoon is the way to go in big water. Also the pontoon diameters are getting bigger for more weight capacity.
Tritoons are used more if you want to pull tubers or wake boarders.
I just putt around our lake so mine is perfect. Our lake is 248 acres.
Just like buying a car. Get what works for you the best.
