TOPIC: Sword Line Boats -Wilmar Boat Co -Connersville IN

Here's a new manufacturer for the FiberGlassics Library: Sword Line Boats made by the Wilmar Boat Company of Connersville, Indiana.

I came across this manufacturer while browsing the July/October 1960 issue of Popular Boating.

Does anyone have additional information on this company?

Only other information I have found is a one-line blurb in the April 8, 2008 Palladium - Item newspaper of Richmond, Indiana: "50 years ago in 1958... *The Wilmar Boat Co. began building boats in the old Lewis B. Ashe factory on Round Barn Road North."

I went ahead and created an entry in the Library for this company:

In my list of Indiana Pleasure Boat Manufacturers that I have created, I have "Wilmar Boat Co., Inc. at Richmond, Indiana"

I do not have any other information.

I also see "Gennett & Sons, Inc. Flotel Div. at 1 Main St. in Richmond, IN"

No boat firms at Connorsville, IN on my list.

Did a Newspaper Archive search and found ONE entry for Wilmar Boat.

On 30 June 1960 Mrs. Phylis Cathryn Rice, age 36, was killed in an auto accident while on her way to work as a secretary at Wilmar Boat Co., Round Barn Road North, Richmond, Indiana.

Confirms the address. I wonder if Richmond and Connorsville were close to each other?
