I was driving around for work in NW CT and came across a small boat shop that has been around for a while. There was a bunch of boats by the road, some current but at least one 60s Starcraft and a 70s Glastron tri-hull. It looks like there is stuff out back that can't be seen from the road. But what really peaked my interest is that there is a trailer from an 18 wheeler parked behind the shop with vintage motor hoods stacked 2 or 3 high on top. I didn't have time to stop in, but marked it on my GPS and definitely want to go back. Might be some interesting pickings.

OK, I know the place in Torrington, I just don't get down there much.
The guy's place on Rt 8, I have stopped in there a couple of times.
He seems in love with his trailers. Neat boats pop there from time to time. I almost bought a nice Penn Yan fiberglass from him, but I don't have room for any more boats. And the thought of ever going to the DMV again is enough to keep me away from anything but the holy grail of boating (whatever that is).

Do you mean Rt 8 or Rt 4? This place is on Goshen Rd, also Rt 4, near the intersection of Rt 272. (You forced me to look it up on Google Maps) The aerial photo show a seriously "populated" yard.

Split mentioned the Rt. 8 place. I am familiar with both.
The one on Rt. 4 going up the hill towards Goshen, I have never stopped there but I know exactly where it is.

Drive to the end of 8, take a right. You are on 44W now.
Then go right to stay on 8 north, taking a right at the college.
It is about 5-6 miles (ballpark) on the left. If you get to the reservoir launch, you have gone too far.
