TOPIC: 1960 Seafair Sedan Rubber "Scupper" Grommets

1960 Seafair Sedan Rubber "Scupper" Grommets 12 years 5 days ago #70152

Does anybody here know of a company that has a replacement rubber scupper grommet for a 1960 Glasspar Seafair Sedan? There are three "scupper" holes on each side of the boats' gunwales to drain water off of the side deck and out of the boat. These rubber grommets go inside a hole in the side deck.

Thanks.

Have you tried Great Lakes Skipper? They carry some products like that sometimes. Or give Peter at Wefco Rubber Products a call, he may have them or know of a source?

Do you have the measuerments fo them. I have some big grommets that might be the same size. Skip.

Skip:

O.K.,...I have some measurements for you on this Seafair Grommet.
I will use my picture for reference:

1.) The center hole is 7/16"

2.) The length of the grommet (from edge to edge) is 3/4"

3.) The "gap" in the center is 5/16" and the DEPTH of that gap or slot is 3/16"

I hope that is clear enough Skip. If you think you have any grommets this size, or close to that size I can send you a check or money order for them Sir. ;) Let me know what you think and THANK YOU for your offer of the help.

Red G3,
I checked my stash and nothing at that size. You might want to go to an auto parts store with it and see if they have any PCV grommets that are that size. That may be your best way for now. Good luck on that Skip.

Speaking of grommets, I have been on a search for three matching grommets that would fit a 2 3/4" hole. Any ideas?
Thanks,
StevieB

GOOD NEWS for all Glasspar Seafair Sedan Owners that have the side "scuppers" on their boats! My friend Glen Steinberg was able to find a replacement rubber grommet from "McMaster-Carr" that fits very well! The PART NUMBER on this rubber grommet is: #9307K63.
Here are some photos of the original and replacement grommet from "McMaster-Carr": Original is on TOP

Here is a photo of the scupper on our 1960 Seafair Sedan with the new "McMaster-Carr" Rubber Grommet in place. The original grommet is a little wider and somewhat deeper in the middle but still fit well.
