TOPIC: 1961-1963 Glastron V143 JetFlite

I am reaching out to see how many of these boats may still be out there. I inquired on the classic Glastron site and only received one owner reply with a 1961.

I have a 1963 that I purchased new, purely on its appearance when I saw it parked on a trailer in front of a boat store. Fortunately, it performed as well as it looked and it has been a joy to use.

It has not been used much lately and I have decided to get it restored so I can use it now that I have more time. Attached are a couple of pictures of how it looked before going to the restoration shop.

Welcome aboard Kern, glad you decided to show that ole girl some love. Keep us posted on your progress, we'd like to watch you bring her back to glory.

Does that have the fiberglass tonneau cover? Looks like it from the photos. Nice find if it does. Described as the rarity for 1963 on the CGOA site. Definitely a keeper. Looking forward to seeing this one. Post photos of the progress.

It's amazing how Glastron's designs changed in just a couple of years. I'm restoring a 1959 and the look is dramatically different from the 1961 boats.

Yes, this boat does have the fiberglass tonneau covers. That is one feature that attracted me to it in the first place.

As noted in my post, this was not a "find". I bought this boat new in the fall of 1963 and have owned it since.

I will start a thread in the forum that is devoted to restorations and will show more pictures.
