WELCOME to the forum.

My book says tongue weight should be @10% of gross weight, though i don't know what your rig weighs.
(most public weigh stations will weigh it for you FREE, in my experience.)

the scale was showing between 150- & 200 pounds on the hitch jack lift" but I had a week back moved it forward some to get to that

for now I have it at 100 pounds to deal with the lifting as I am still

If there isn't enough tongue weight the trailer will wag. Take a full gas can along and go test it. You can move the full gas tank ahead of or behind the axle to find the wag point. Then you can test the tongue with the scale again to find out how much tongue weight you must have to keep the trailer from wagging. Obviously be careful while testing!
