TOPIC: Tribute to Pa.

I wasn't sure If I had shown you guys this. As many of you know, my dad, and Larson boat collector died this spring. When my mother and I were trying to pick out urns for him we couldn't really find anything we liked. Finally we were drawn to the wooden ones, but my comment was "he would come back and haunt us if we put him in one with a dull finish" Right then it clicked for me what would be most fitting for my father Lew.



As the first summer without my dad ends, I'll be draining engine blocks for the first time without his "reminders" not to forget that one!

What a great tribute to your father! I hauled and winterized five boats since Friday as we had a cold snap last night and I am headed out of town for a week on business, so I felt the need to get them done. I can still hear my father complaining that we waited to long to haul them as it was usually a pretty cold nasty day when we did. Not this year dad!

I did enjoy making the "boat box". It was hard, but my dad was 87 and had not been in good health for quite some time. Yes I was/am very sad, but still, I am a realist. This was a great way to remember him in a way he would really like.

Thanks everyone for the kind works. Mainly I posted this, not for feedback so much as to give some of you who share boating as a multi-generational hobby, ideas as to how to send off your loved ones in an equally fitting manner. Granted...I lucked out that my dad's name was Lewis, in the he loved Larson boats, and the logo fit his name.
