TOPIC: Airguide Tachometer 1030 vs. 2030

Does anyone know the difference between an Airguide 1030 and 2030 tachometer? I installed one (Airguide "Series 10" model 1030) on my 1980 Evinrude 35hp and it's not working. I have seen two different application charts. One says the 1030 will work the other says use the 2030.

There's a thread here (Main Forum, I think) posted a month or so ago that has link to the Airguide website, which lists all the models and specs. I'll see if I can find it for you, might take a while.....

Thanks for the link. I had seen that before. That's part of the problem. That list says to use an Airguide 2030 where as the 1030 I have says on the box it should work. I am puzzled about what the difference between the two is. I'm wondering if the 1000 series is for odd number cylinder motors vs. 2000 series for even number.
