TOPIC: Another request for boat ID assistance

I am looking for my dad's old boat. It was a glasspar, somewhere in the 67-72 age range. I have not seen another boat like it anywhere in all the research I have done. I know it's still local and currently registered but without a model name it's like a needle in a hay stack. If I can not get my dads old boat (the one pictured) I'd like to at least find one like it. But I haven't found anything that looked like this. I'd like my kids to grow up fishing on it too.

More info I forgot, it's 16.5 foot, the motor (the "Surf Six-O") was the 60'th anniversary evinrude engine - 60 horse.

If memory serves that would be 1967, however I have seen a 1967 Glasspar catalog and there is NO BOAT that looks anything like this.

I have seen another 16 and a half foot boat from 1972 that's the closest thing to this I have found, however the front of the bow section is different. (The hull looked identical) which has been the hard part most of the Glasspar tri-hulls I have seen are not nearly this "sleek".

This boat was wide and flat and you could fish in shallow water with it.

. Your Green color may have been offered for like 1971 , I dont know for sure.. I remember your pictures many times on the Glasspar board, & there is only one style for tri hulls,, called CUTLAS. Not a big mystery. Here is a Butter-Scotch color , assume the 14 foot model here in east Tenn, . If one does a Craig List regional web SEARCH , like on Search Tempest I think one can find a tri -hull,

Worst mistake I have ever been a part of. I should have fought to not sell this boat. I am so sad I may never see it again.

Hey thanks for the heads up, this is the closest to dad's boat I have ever seen. I have emailed to get a price and more pictures.

Oh yea it's rare, SUPER DUPER rare, I have had people on other boards comment on the fact they have never seen one in that good of shape (the Surf Six 0 engine and cowl) and had never even seen pictures that good of one.

You might be able to backdoor things at the DMV. Take the boat's registration number to the DMV and ask for the name & address of the owner as you "bought" a boat without paperwork and need to find the owner to get a proper bill of sale and the registration. Might be worth a shot. Worst they can do is say no...

Does not add anything to the post but, Everytime I see the graphics of that boat it makes me search the web for episodes of the Krofft Supershow, Banana Splits show. Etc.

I have an orange Gremlin if you need something to pull it.

I love that stuff from the time period of colors and graphics where most everyone says, "OH god! what were they thinking?"
