can anyone help ID this boat? 12 years 2 weeks ago #69283

Hello,

I am trying to figure out what kind of boat this is. Can anyone shed some light on it?

Thanks

The boat is 14ft, very thin construction, the transom seems to be solid glass with no wood inside. The boat has a lot of tumble home at the rear. It has V14 10 stamped into the aluminum trim on the transom, no other markings left.

Any help would be great. I am trying to decide what to do with it.
Thanks,
Adam

Edgewater welcome to to site. Its kinda hard to tell but it kinda looks like a 61 Dorsett Skibird. If you could post afew more pics of the boat from all angles it would really help the members jump in here and help you out more. What are your plans for it? It doesn't look to bad in the shots but that can go either way. Anyways good luck with it. Skip.

Thanks for the welcome to the forum.

Here are some more photos. It doesn't really have the same details as the 1960-62 Dorsetts shown in the catalogs.

This boat is very thin, and light weight. There are no wood stringers under the dash or decks, just "V" shaped fiberglass braces with what looks like cardboard that the glass was formed over.

The boat has a nearly flat bottom.
