After so many years of me and my dad working on her, this was our third boating season with Penny water ready. Sadly, while we prepared to get her out this year, it didn't happen. I've been too busy.
So... it's time to find someone who will use her, show her off or just love her as we did.
For those that don't remember, [img]http://http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/AlaskaKate/bio%20stuff/IMG_5952.jpgPenny is a really pretty, 17ft candy apple red, 1959 Cutter Avon with a working and period painted 1959 Evinrude 35hp Lark (Golden Jubilee Edition). All original stainless steel hardware is on the boat and all the original jewelery on the motor. She will be sold complete with a new roller trailer, a 1959 Johnson motor used as a parts donor (few needed) for the Evinrude and the owner's manual.
Unique features: Left-sided steering wheel, a really deep hull, and of course, tail fins
Bidding will start tomorrow at noon for ten days. Asking start price is $5,000, though as usual, we put waaay more into restoring her and the motor. There is only one, Cutter Avon and one, 1959 Evinrude motor on eBay so a search should be easy.
It was a hard decision, but I know she deserves to get out more. My dad, Don is sad too, but he knows it's best for Penny. He will be bringing Penny to the Barnaget Bay ACBS show at Johnson Brothers Boat Works, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey tomorrow 9-5 if anyone is around to see her.I have to work
Have a great weekend folks!
