TOPIC: 1958 Owens Speedship 14' / Information Wanted

I just purchsed a 1958 Owens Speedship, 14', with a 1959 35 Johnson Super Seahorse. Most of the boat is complete, except for the seating arrangement. I am hoping that a member might have a picture of the original seating pattern and structure, so that I might be able to duplicate the exact look. Additionally, I am looking for a Vollrath Steering Wheel. Finally, does anyone have a brochure/manual on this boat or the 35 Johnson for sale?

Obviously, I don't understand the process for loading pics.

Steve, let see if I can help you out here.
To post a picture first make sure the file is not too big, if it is the system will not accept it. I usually downsize mine with microsoft paint program and save it to wherever you want. Click the browse button on the bottom of your post, choose your pic and then ok it. It will post. If you want to add more pictures once you post the message just click on "edit" on the bottom and add another picture. Keep doing that for all the pictures and you will have multiple pictures on your single post.
PS I don't have a clue about Owens....sorry.

I am looking for any information on the owens speedship and woundering if you found out any more information?


On the one I currently own I have pulled out the OLD rotted foam from inside the seats by cutting a hole in the fiberglass, removing it and replacing it with the closed cell 2 parts liquid which expanded nicely and then glassed back over it.

Made a couple of wood seat & backs for now.

Still looking for any other pictures and options that came with these types of boats (interior, gauges, motor type and sizes, etc)
