TOPIC: 1962 Dorsett Sea Hawk Jet

1962 Dorsett Sea Hawk Jet 12 years 1 month ago #68436

I am wondering if anyone has information on the 18' Sea Hawk Dorsett Jet drive boat model. In looking at the Glassics library, I find that they show it in the brochure as having their own brand of single stage jet unit. I would imagine that they bought drive units from someone else and maybe they private labeled them. Any thoughts on this? As you know, I am trying ot compile information on jet drives from that era, IE, Buehler and thier Hamilton Jet units, Upson Jet from the Paynesville, Ohio area. I would enjoy hearing from any Dorsett owners regarding this model. WIth a 105 Ford Falcon engine, I would think that it would be somewhat underpowered. I love the lines of the Sea Hawk, very stylish in the day!

You might try the Northwest Classic Boat Club - they might be able to point you to an owner of these boats: www.classicboatclub.com/
