TOPIC: 1966 Winner Boat INFO NEEDED AND HOPEFULLY PICS

1966 Winner Boat INFO NEEDED AND HOPEFULLY PICS 12 years 1 month ago #67994

Hello I have a 1966 Winner's model #501
she is 15' and had cable pulley steering which i already converted to a more responsive and safer teleflex. I have a rebuilt 1977 Evinrude 50 hp which will be replaced with a 75 Evy hopefully soon. Anyone know this lost girl ? I want to bring her back to her glory days for my wife and i to enjoy. Recently out of Navy and am really looking forward to making her relive her glory days.

Welcome aboard, and thank you for your service! Have you had a chance to check out the Winner section in the library here?;

I believe we do have a few members familiar with the brand, I'm sure someone will chime in with some helpful info......

Mine is a 59 Scorpion 15 foot. It's in the works now. But I'm also working on my monster truck. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

beautiful boat. i believe mine is a Talamor? if i am saying that right. I love this boat bought it for $500 with motor and triler. We slapped some primer on it so i could get a little use out of it. My wife was tired of hearing me whining about using it. We are pulling it out this weekend and officially starting the project. Your hull looks amazing. How did you do it?

The 1966 "brochure" is a big, giant poster. Almost impossible to scan.

Model #501 is the "Palomar" with 14'-9" centerline length; 15'-8" gunwale length; 73" beam; 61" transom planing beam; 36" depth; rated for up to 65 HP.

I plan on keeping my winner around for my children. They are such cool boats.

Thank you very much for confirming that. Now I have something to go by. I am going to get her looking as close to original as i can. With of course tha exception of teleflex steering and adding power trim/tilt and carpeting(for my wife). I cant wait to see her next year.
