TOPIC: Manufacturer of my boat

I have been researching the web trying to find the manufacturer of my '62 Elgin Sport Runabout. I started with the normal leads, Larson, Arkansas Traveler, etc. Nothing in the fiberglassics library, and else where had the same bow shape. I was browsing the gallery at classicboathouse. com and found one that was listed only as a Montgomery Wards. It looked allmost exactly like mine. With further research I found that a company called Angler Boats, a division of Penn Yan in New York made boats for both Sears and Wards in the early '60's. Anyone have anymore info or opinions on this revelation?

STARCRAFT made numerous hulls for SEARS & Montgomery Ward about that time. - a picture or two would be helpful.

There were numerous companies that made boats for Sears and Montgomery Ward a few of which have been mentioned. Another two are Grumman and Michi-craft. A photo would help.

Did Angler at Penn Yan make fiberglass boats? I thought they made wooden boats only. I have a newspaper article that indicating Angler Boat Company closed in 1960.

I found the 'angler' division of Penn Yan was the fiberglass manufacturer. I was unaware they closed in '60. Boat is a '62 and engine '61. Just was curious, I get a bit anal about things I don't know LOL
