Hello all!
Long-time no post... sometimes life just gets too crazy.

Changes from my last post (2010??)..

Gave the '67 MFG Westfield Regal to my brother... he used it 2 seasons and then sold it. Sorry to see it go after knowing the boat since new... but Life goes on...

I've been taking the '69 Fabuglas out ALOT this year. It's a monster with the '78 1400 merc. Good performance with the new 19 pitch 4-blade Solus Prop. Top speed is 44mph (GPS). May still drop to the 17 pitch to get better dig with 2 skiers, and get the rpm's up. It maxes @ 5100 rpm now, shouldn't hurt the top speed with the pitch-drop, and get the rpm's into the mid 5000's.

The reason for this post? Lookee what I found...

Questions:
1) Who made it? Someone is advertising the red.green lenses as Attwood 6000 series. @ $50 I'm glad I don't need them.
2) What kind of lens (if any) goes on the front? I don't dsee anywhere a lens could fit. I didn't think you were allowed any white or other colors up front...
3) Anyone have a picture of one with the Burgee or cover?

I'll try to stick around a bit and help out all I can...

Ray

\"too soon old,too late smart\" my pap

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.“

I have a big plastic (fake wood) stern light with that same logo.

Vorath or Attwood?

Found it!!! Here of course... in the library.
There is an old Attwood Seaflight brochure in the Boat Library..
Also found a NOS Burgee on eBay for a mere $1299.00

Welcome back Ray, good to see you back here again! Nice find on the bow light, I think somebody once said KevFin was making repops of the center lens at one time? (Could be wrong, there's been an epidemic of CRS running rampant around here lately. LOL)

the attwood seaflites are the holly grail of bow lights.....most have the docking light lens missing....they are the normal light used on the 1961 red fish....most docking lights either were or with time have turned a really cool purple john

Though cool in itself, I can't think of too many boats that would look really great on. What I mean is, the light has so much going on visually that is would end up being "Hey look at that crazy light with a boat attached under it."

... anything with fins or soft sweeping lines would work. Lapstrake hulls and squared windshields and I'd agree...

Hi Ray: The lens attaches through the use of a flange around it's base. It was advertised as a docking light and had a separate switch so that it would be legal to use. I call these the "Warp Driven bow light" after their striking resemblance to the space craft of Star Trek. The other kind I like to call the "Warp Driven bow handle". I did make an excellent reproduction of the lens and have a few left. I have the www.boatsinthebelfry.com/ site. Great find!
