my moms fiance ed(john)gordon needs a set of cables for a 64 merc 500,about 13 feet long,i used to have all this info on where to get this stuff,until my computer crashed,thanks john

John, if you're looking for control cables, lots of folks have them. I think I got mine from West Marine:

These are way too long, but you could do a loop. They came in a boat we bought for parts, with no motor. It is the only Merc equipment I've ever owned. Because I can't throw stuff out, 36 years later I still keep moving them around. They are missing one gear rack for inside the control box.
