I used some on the final layer of my ski locker sides John, (it's pre-waxed resin), worked great! HD had it at $27.95 and I didn't want to wait for a shipment from US Composites. (Ran out at the end of the 'glassing part of the project.)

John,

I have a gal. can that I've used a little to fix some tabbing on one of my boats. It's not the best that I've used but for the price it seems fine. It could use a little shot of styrene to thin it out a bit. It doesn't wet out as easily as I'd prefer, so it takes a little more finess and fuss. Check the date code on can, get one within 6 months of manufacture - and no more than a year. I think I used 5 drops per Oz. I believe the can says 10 per. But that gives a stupidly short pot life.

Guys, keep this in mind when using the BiG Box store or Auto Store Bondo Resin Products. They are Pre-Waxed. This means you will need to sand and Acetone wash in between layups of layers of CSM or Cloth if you allow the layup to cure. If you are going to do a multi layer patch it's best to do it in one layup when using this product. You will get a much better chemical bond and ensure your self of a successful layup this way. Saves you time due to not having to sand and wash. Just pre cut the material in successively larger pieces, lay them out on a piece of plastic, wet em all out and carry them to the damaged area on the piece of plastic an apply them with the plastic in place. Roll it out and then when it cures peel the plastic off. Works Great.

That is how I do mine. All at once or at least two, three layers at once.

That stuff is Bondo brand, recently taken over by 3M.
It's kinda a low end product. I am always weary of things like that from the big box stores. I do use it, but only on small jobs.

I would check out R.S. Hughes - www.rshughes.com/products/051131_05834.html they have the original 3M fiberglass resin that might work the best. I used it on my boat and I never had a issue.
