TOPIC: 1966 Renken?

1966 Renken? 12 years 3 months ago #63845

Good morning! I am new to the forums here and new to owning a classic. We recently (yesterday!) purchased what we believe is a 1966 Renken Renegade (that's how it was listed on CL)
We picked it up fairly cheap as we have wanted to get our hands dirty with a project boat. She's (at the moment) powder blue and white. We believe she may have been red, white, and blue originally.

Any info on her would be awesome! Thanks for looking!
Karen

I like the lines of the boat. I do believe you got a nice sturdy trailer too. Welcome aboard.

Thank you! I really really want a rear view mirror with some fuzzy dice lol

The trailer is homemade! Gonna have a heck of a time registering it with the state, but I have friends :)
The first thing I need to find is a windshield. Any ideas where to start???

Here are some more pics that I took this morning. I'm not feeling well so I just hurried.

This is the number etched into the transom

Love the compass rose (sorry it's blurry, I'll get a better one) I do not want to change these, maybe just get them re-chromed

We're not quite sure what these are for. My husband seems to think they're for some sort of batten?

Yes, batten clips for keeping a mooring cover or dust cover arched upright. Not from the factory I am sure.

Good to know! Any idea where to start to replace it?
Or should I remove them and fill the holes?

Thank you, Ron
Not really. Tuckerton is about an hour fifteen minutes from me.
We looked at slips down there for our 27'. Decided against it..the Green Head Flies are awful down there!!!!
